Video- Celebratory Lap- 24 Hours Roller Montreal

The only video that I shot at this past weekend’s 24 Hour Roller Montreal is footage of the completion of the celebratory lap. I could have shot plenty of videos, but I was focused on racing and skating well for the team that I was on; 2009-06-07 Montreal 24 Hour Roller Montreal- Final Lap.

This Evening- Skaters & Cyclists Will Gather At 6pm At Montreal’s Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve

This evening (June 12th) from 6pm to 7pm, there will be a non-violent protest- a gathering of cyclists and skaters- at Montreal’s Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve.

The gathering’s purpose is to protest against the installation of speed bumps on the track. These will prevent athletes to use the circuit as a safe training venue.

You can sign this petition and also sign this petition.

Here is an article from la Presse; Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve: Gérald Tremblay pédale en mode compromis.

Inline World Master Games- November 13th To 15h- Canary Island

The first Inline World Master Games will take place November 13th to 15h in the Canary Islands. Read more using the following links;

– Racing in 3 days (1 full, 2 halves) on karting track, extra races on a road circuit or indoor facility on a free afternoon (no guaranees to get the road closed until a month or so before the event, so can’t promise it yet).
– Judges: yes, but just a couple. I was thinking of inviting Barbara and somebody else (trustable) just to supervise, then to use volunteers + ourselves as referees.
– Entries: if by august there are not enough participants listed, we better forget it. Then, once we reach the critical mass we can start collecting the entry fees, which was calculated to cover the costs: insurance, ambulance, prizes, timing chips, Barbara’s travel expenses, final dinner, beers, etc… Again, if by September people didn’t send the money, I’ll have to call it a quit. I can afford to waste my time, but I’m not going to lose money on you old farts

Big Money For Pescara Marathon

The Italian Federation has just issued an official statement: on June 28th, during the Mediterranean Games (from which our sport was recently dismissed) a marathon will be organized on the same urban circuit used last year for the master champs. It’s a 42km race on an 5.3km x lap course (newly resurfaced). The event is backed up by Massi Presti and friends so it’s serious stuff, especially considering the not-so-bad prizes (for men and women):
1. € 4.000,00
2. € 2.000,00
3. € 1.000,00
4. € 500,00
5. € 400,00
6. € 300,00
7. € 200,00
8. € 100,00
9. € 100,00
10. € 100,00
