This Weekend: Saturday- Trillium 10k Road, Sunday- RSO Series 400m Track & SSW Fundraising Drive

We have a full weekend of racing in Toronto with two different races- one on the road on Satuday and one on a 400-meter track on Sunday;

  • Saturday: Trillium 10k in Mount Forest- tons of great food, rumours of a new course, Il Peloton will be in attendance, 100% chance of rain, and 100% chance of fun! I’ll be driving there tomorrow morning at 6:45am.
  • Sunday: RSO Series #1 in Toronto- Mother’s day: bring your moms, 400-meter track, isolated showers, lots of racing with sprint, middle, and long distance races. I am helping to organize and set-up. If you can come as well, please do so 🙂
  • Sunday: 2009 SSW Fundraising Drive kicks-off

More Ideas In Thread ‘How About A REAL Masters’ Championship’

The discussion continue in How about a REAL masters’ championship– lots of ideas surfacing-

Aw, Lars… true, you guys use numbered week up there: I had to find one of your calendars, hehe… Now, as much as I would love to have a large troupe of Danish ladies ’round here (I can paint their cheeks for free), I don’t think mid october is a good date, as there are still a few important races in that period, including the so-called “european masters champs” in Italy… just another lousy race, that is, but one that should oppose our project. I guess our best bet should be from end of october to end of november at the latest.

No More 100-Meter Sprints In Long Track World Cups

According to Schaatsenzo.nl, the ISU has decided to no longer hold the 100-meter races in the Long Track Speed Skating World Cups. There is a greater risk of injuries, especially to hamstrings and groins.
