RIP Wally Boshuck- Moose Jaw Club Founder

It is with deep regret that Speed Skating Canada passes along this message. Thursday, we lost a mentor and a great friend of the Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and Canadian speed skating family. Wally Boshuck passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital after a brief illness.

Report- Nestle Life Inline Tour- Bratislava, Slovakia

Mathieu Grandgirard from France won the first race of the new inline skating season in Bratislava, Slovakia, a part of NESTLÉ LifeInLine Tour. The best woman was Renáta Karabová, Slovakia, total winner of NESTLÉ series 2008. More than 300 skaters from nine countries competed in Bratislava.

Le Taz- Speed Sessions On Sundays 9am-11am At Montreal Indoor 200m Track

Le Taz, Montreal’s newest indoor inline skating facility, will have a dedicated slot for roller speed skating on the 200-meter track.

For $10 (cash for the time being), skaters can skate on Sundays between 9am and 11am. The session will be coached.

The track features an integrated AMB chip timing system. Chips can be purchased for $120. The use of timing chips is NOT mandatory.

Everyone knows that Italy is the country from where most of the best skates are made, as well as the best skaters…. The Treviso marathon was a very, very different race as the normal races in Italy: everyone was expecting a fast final sprint on a nice sunny and shiny day. But instead, it was a long, cold and raining day with an unexpected brake away finish.
