Many People Get EGC Skates

Eric Gee moulded many people today; read about it in EGC Skates. About the moulding, Andrew says ‘I hadn’t seen the method that Eric used to mold our feet before but I now consider it to be superior to the methods that I’ve used in the past‘.

Stars On Ice: Pierre Gagne & Sourdine Foundation

Text & photos from Alex Perrie- ‘Last Saturday a dedicated group of skaters gathered to support Pierre Gagne on his quest to raise money and awareness for the Sourdine Foundation. This organization is focused on bringing a better quality of life to young deaf children through teaching and supplying state of the art hearing equipment.

The group gathered just before 6:00am at the Mega Parc in Quebec City. This is a huge shopping mall with a complete amusement park and shops overlooking a massive ice surface. The group consisted of skaters of all ages and speed skating backgrounds.

Pierre is a 75 year old “Ice hall of Fame” member; and at the other end of the age scale was 11 year old Paisley Perrie 2 time North American Marathon Champion and current long track and inline National champ.

Kalina Roberge National and Olympic team member showed just what smooth skating looks like. Justine L’Heureux current junior overall World long track Champion showed she can skate short track as proficient as long. Marathon International skaters Jim Cornell, Suzanne Dionne and Youri Juteau seemed to thrive throughout the skate. A total of 12 skaters took part.

The peleton skated a total of 552 laps at 180 meters per lap for a 100 kilometre morning. A dance group on stage and an MC announcing skaters bio’s and constant updates made sure the shoppers were entertained and informed. The day turned out very well for the Foundation as well as speed skating had a little more exposure‘.
